It requires “Fingerspitzengefühl” to select the right trunks for the instruments. Together with the instrument builders the purchased trunks are inspected and viewed. Subsequently the trunks are sawed and stacked so the wood can thoroughly dry in the wind. After a while the trunk are dried artificially at the required humidity percentage.
